In Someren we played at a hockey club party. Acoustically a clubhouse is not a hall but a box: a low ceiling, a smooth floor, glass on the pitch side. Everything bounces in there, so it takes very little to do too much.
Early in the evening people come in wearing their club jackets and mostly want to talk the match over. Music belongs underneath that: recognisable enough to have an opinion about, soft enough to order at the bar without shouting.
