Rewound and ready within fifteen minutes

Side A · the drinks

A cassette rewinds within minutes and is then ready to start. The same goes for Het Cassettebandje: setting up takes no more than fifteen minutes, and clearing up is just as quick.

We played a wedding party there, in a marquee, and an evening like that starts with drinks: people come in, order something, catch up. We play underneath that, without anyone having to raise their voice. No hall too small is the motto — we fit in one and a half by two and a half metres.

When it turns into a party

From background to reason

Side B · the party

There comes a moment when the conversations get louder than the music. That is the signal. Speakers added, tempo up, and the repertoire shifts to the songs that get people on their feet.

But not too wild. On side B too the volume is a choice: enough to carry a room, never so much that whoever stays at the bar is left out.

Frequently asked questions · Helmond

Questions about a performance in Helmond

Can’t find your question? Call or WhatsApp Theo on +31 6 55 33 58 54.

Do you come to Helmond?

Gladly. We play within roughly half an hour’s drive of Eindhoven, and at fifteen minutes Helmond is comfortably inside that. Mierlo, Aarle-Rixtel, Bakel and Deurne are just around the corner for us too.

What time do you arrive?

Well before the start. Unloading and setting up takes fifteen minutes, so we do not need to occupy the room hours in advance. Agree with us what time the first note should sound and we will work back from there.

Do you fit in a bar?

Certainly. 1.5 × 2.5 metres is enough — roughly that corner next to the tap that stands empty anyway. In a small bar we often play with little or no amplification.

The marquee is in a field. Is that a problem?

No, provided two things are arranged: a dry, level surface of 1.5 × 2.5 metres and power, even if that means an extension lead from the house or a generator. On soft ground we put ourselves on a couple of boards, otherwise the cajón sinks in.

Can you cover the drinks reception and the party afterwards?

That is exactly how such an evening is built: side A during drinks, side B once it turns into a party. One band, one set-up, two dynamics. Even on side B the volume stays a choice.
