In Bergeijk there was a marquee beside the house, with the garden around it as a second room. During the day everyone sat on the grass: chairs in a circle, children running between them, the food table at the edge. We stood in the opening of the marquee, with a foot in both spaces.
Outdoors sound blows away, so the light amplification comes along. But the principle does not change: soft enough for the circle on the grass to keep talking, and for anyone who wants to listen to miss nothing.
